Aleut Corp. wins $95 million defense contract

Aleut Facilities Support Services, LLC, a subsidiary of the Aleut Corporation in Anchorage, Alaska, has been awarded by the Department of Defense a $95,986,770 firm-fixed-price contract for civil engineering support services. Services include property maintenance, repair and operations, planning and engineering services, environmental services and protection, property management, housing and furnishing management, and emergency response services, corporation official Chris Lace said this week.

They have also been awarded a $14,714,248 firm-fixed price contract for cadet support services. The contract provides services to include academic program support, operation of academic facilities, and athletic program support for athletic events, maintain sports equipment and supplies, operation of athletic facilities.

Work will be performed at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado, and is expected to be completed b?July 31, 2019. This award is the result of a competitive acquisition set-aside for small business. The solicitation was posted on the Federal Business Opportunities website, and nine offers were received.

The Aleut Corporation is a regional Native corporation formed pursuant to the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act of 1971. There are approximately 3,917 shareholders of the Company. The Aleut Corporation’s primary business ventures are held in federal government operations and maintenance and IT contracting, fuel sales, real estate, oil well testing services, mechanical contracting, water quality testing, hazardous materials analysis and remediation services.
