Shemya Visit

TAC Lands Manager Ben Leon-Guerrero and Director of Shareholder Relations Angela Bourdukofsky were invited by 611 CES/CEIE Cultural Resources Program Manager Karlene Leeper to inter repatriated human remains back to Shemya Island, 1,200 miles southwest of Anchorage, Alaska.

The remains were originally sent to the Museum of the Aleutians a few years ago by the family of military personnel who were stationed in Shemya during WWII, which were then sent to The Aleut Corporation to repatriate in accordance with the Native American Grave Protection and Repatriation Act.
