SUBSIDIARY UPDATE: ALEUT FEDERAL WINS SPACE FORCE CONTRACT

Jul 14, 2022

Aleut Aerospace Engineering (AAE), based in Colorado Springs and a subsidiary of Aleut Federal, LLC, has been awarded a $10.9 million contract to continue its training efforts on behalf of the U.S. Space Force (USSF) 319th Combat Training Squadron and 533rd Training Squadron at Peterson Space Force Base.

While AAE was the incumbent, they had to compete against other qualified firms for the privilege of expanding upon our existing work in what is known as a “recompete.” AAE’s proven track record of consistency, exceeding customer expectations, and unparalleled customer service secured the win.

When COVID-19 shut down government offices, AAE reimagined productivity to ensure that all work was timely and efficiently completed. AAE’s dedication resulted in the introduction of three new Spacepower discipline courses, including education covering orbital mechanics, radio frequency fundamentals, sensor management, and radar fundamentals. Despite challenges presented by the pandemic, AAE placed more than 400 new space operators in the field – receiving high accolades for USSF generals.

Going forward, AAE will continue to perform training services in support of tactical, operational, strategic, joint, and coalition space operations at both Peterson Space Force Base in Colorado and Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. Its goal is to shift the model from traditional computer-based training to true collegiate-level, student-centric, engaging online curriculum.

“We are very excited to continue our collaboration with the U.S. Space Force,” said AAE General Manager Geoff Vaughan. “Aleut Aerospace Engineering and Aleut Federal’s reputation for excellence will continue to expand the opportunities we can provide to shareholders of The Aleut Corporation, creating a lasting legacy.”
