Debi Schmit

Director


Debi began her TAC Board service in 2017. She serves on the Board Policy and the Fisheries Committees.

Previously, Debi has volunteered for a variety of boards including the
Alaska Tribal Administrators Association, Aleut Enterprise LLC, Lake and Peninsula Borough Assembly, Alaska Municipal League Legislative Council, Alaska Women’s Leadership Forum, Pedro Bay Village Council, Columbia County Economic Development Council, Bristol Bay Marketplace Competition, Pebble Fund, and the Pebble Fund Scholarship.

Debi has a long-established professional career in business and administration. Currently, she is the Chief Administrative Officer of JW Industries Group where she consults on a variety of projects, grants, and communications plans. She has also worked as a Grants Director for the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium, was a Workforce & Development Manager with Pebble, Ltd., and has additional experience in finance, construction, administration, and business development. For 17 years, Debi owned and operated a retail business in rural Alaska.

Debi holds a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in Management and Operations from the Jack Welch Management Institute at Strayer University; a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix; and an Associate of Applied Science in Office Occupations from the University of Alaska Anchorage.

Debi is originally from King Cove, Alaska and currently lives in Anchorage, Alaska. Her term expires in 2024.
