Aleut Seeks Partner for Aleutian Islands Pollock Allocation

Nov 04, 2026

Anchorage, Alaska —The Aleut Corporation (Aleut) has issued a Request for Information (RFI) to identify qualified partners to harvest its Amendment 82 Aleutian Islands pollock allocation for the 2027 season. Established by Congress in 2004 to support economic development in Adak and the Aleutian region, the allocation covers the directed pollock fishery in federal management areas 541, 542, and 543. Under the 2027 harvest specifications, Aleut’s directed fishing allowance is approximately 12,600 metric tons.

Half of the allocation, approximately 6,300 metric tons, is reserved by statute for vessels 60 feet or less in length overall, and half is available to vessels eligible under the American Fisheries Act (AFA). Aleut welcomes responses for either or both components and will consider single operators, groups of vessels operating cooperatively, and proposals that pair harvesting with a processing solution. Aleut is seeking partners with an identified market, a demonstrated record of regulatory compliance, and the capability to operate safely in Aleutian Islands conditions. Aleut is open to building a multi-year relationship with the right partner.

Interested parties are invited to contact Aleut by November 30, 2026. Aleut will follow up with each respondent to discuss vessels, operating experience, compliance, and potential commercial terms, and may request supporting documentation. The full RFI is available below.
