Subsidiary Updates

Mar 12, 2025

Aleut Energy

Aleut continues to expand our business portfolio with the launch of Aleut Energy LLC, our newest subsidiary. Formed through the acquisition of Richards Distributing, Inc. (RDI) and its three established business lines—Renewable Energy Systems, Arctic Home Living, and Alaska EcoWater Systems— Aleut Energy strengthens Aleut’s presence in Alaska’s renewable energy and retail markets. This acquisition has allowed us to develop new operations outside government contracting, providing more sustainable long-term benefits for our shareholders.

RDI has been a trusted name in Alaska since 1987, offering innovative solutions in energy, water treatment, and home spa products. With retail locations in Anchorage, Fairbanks, and the Mat-Su Valley, RDI’s reputation for quality service and expertise aligns with Aleut’s mission to build sustainable businesses that create long-term value for shareholders.

Nick Goodman will lead Aleut Energy as President, bringing over 20 years of leadership experience across renewable energy, government contracting, and hospitality. Key RDI leaders Jeremy Lane and Eddie Davidson will step into the roles of Senior Vice President and Vice President, respectively, ensuring continuity as the business transitions under Aleut ownership. RDI founders Rob and Karlene Richards will stay on through the transition before stepping into retirement.

With this acquisition, Aleut Energy is well-positioned to support Alaska’s evolving energy and retail needs while maintaining the trusted service that RDI customers expect.

The transition went into effect January 31, 2025, with Aleut Energy headquartered in Fairbanks. Shareholders can expect continued updates as Aleut Energy moves forward.

Aleut Federal (AF)

Aleut Federal continues to secure high-profile contracts that enhance its long-term stability and create new revenue opportunities. In January, Aleut Management Services, LLC earned a position on the U.S. General Services Administration’s One Acquisition Solution for Integrated Services Plus (OASIS+) Total Small Business program. This contract allows Aleut to compete for a broad range of federal projects in management, advisory, technical, and engineering services, strengthening its ability to secure longterm government partnerships and drive consistent revenue.

Additionally, Aleut Aerospace Engineering LLC was selected as a contractor for the U.S. Navy’s SeaPort Next Generation (SeaPort NxG) IDIQ contract, a $50 billion professional support services vehicle spanning up to ten years. This award provides access to high-value contracts, diversifying AF’s contract portfolio and allowing AF to build a more resilient business that supports shareholder value and longterm growth.

In February, senior leaders from across Aleut convened for AF’s FY26 Kickoff to align strategies and collaborate in support of initiatives that target shareholder impact. This event featured portfolio briefings, breakout sessions, and updates from the Aleut parent company to drive and define unified growth and success in the year ahead.

With a strong backlog and an extensive project pipeline, Aleut Federal is well-positioned to continue delivering sustainable returns and expanding its impact across key industries.

Aleut Mechanical

Aleut Mechanical continues to deliver exceptional project performance and profitability, exceeding its year-to-date goals. Work at JBER Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (JBER) in Anchorage, AK, has been a significant driver of strong results, with cost management and strategic execution ensuring high profit margins. Projects at Ft. Wainwright (FTW), near Fairbanks, AK, are progressing well despite minor delays, and customer satisfaction on the FTW Barracks project is generating new opportunities. The Chief Peter John Tribal Building project is advancing into its next phase on schedule. Aleut Mechanical and its subsidiary, Patrick Mechanical (PMI), also recently launched their updated branding, and is beginning work on a new website in the coming weeks. With a solid backlog and a growing project pipeline, Aleut Mechanical remains a reliable contributor to Aleut’s operational success.

Aleut Real Estate (ARE)

Aleut Real Estate (ARE) and its subsidiary, Tayal Brokerage, have made significant strides this quarter, with exciting developments across their projects and operations.

ARE and Aleut have continued to collaborate with plans for Aleut’s move to Denali Towers later this year, and plans at Denali Towers are moving full steam ahead and remain on schedule. The updated facilities include a brand new Shareholder Care Center where shareholders and descendants alike can drop by to meet with Aleut staff, fill out important paperwork with the support of Aleut’s records team, or gather in community. Meanwhile, Tayal Brokerage is seeking new lessees for the Aleut Plaza space, and any interested parties should contact Mike Jenks at mjenks@aleutrealestate.com.

In addition to ARE’s work to support Aleut in our move to Denali Towers, ARE has been actively exploring strategic investments to enhance its portfolio and shareholder value. All properties remain profitable, with strong performance from existing ventures like the Black Brandt JV. ARE is evaluating potential investments, including the Denali Tower building and an additional downtown boutique hotel, as part of its strategy to diversify and redeploy funds from earlier projects. The team is also expanding its partnerships with real estate firms both within and outside Alaska.

We’re thrilled to announce that Tayal Brokerage’s new website officially launched on January 17. This updated site offers an updated online experience for clients, showcasing Tayal’s services and expertise in commercial real estate. It also represents an important step forward in strengthening Tayal’s digital presence and aligning with Aleut’s broader technology goals.

These accomplishments are a result of the hard work and dedication of our ARE and Tayal Brokerage teams. Together, they are driving innovation, improving tenant and client experiences, and creating opportunities that benefit Aleut and its shareholders.

Aleut Ventures (AV)

Aleut Ventures (AV) has been hard at work these past months, driving projects that enhance infrastructure, create opportunities, and support our communities in the Aleut region.

Exciting progress is underway on a new hangar at the Cold Bay airport. This facility will enhance our ability to support aircraft operations, strengthening AV’s presence and capabilities in the region. Additionally, AV has installed a new fuel dispenser at the gas station, addressing a critical need for the community. Despite the unique challenges of operating in such a remote area, the team has made remarkable strides in advancing these projects.

Additionally, AV subdivided a recently purchased house in Cold Bay to provide dual benefits: helping us attract and retain top talent while reinforcing our goal of being an Employer of Choice, and offering convenient and comfortable accommodations for travelers to the region.

AV now offers equipment rentals for stand-up paddleboarding, e-biking, and fishing to visitors to Adak. Whether you’re paddling along the coastline, cycling through the unique and windswept terrain, or casting your line into pristine waters, Adak promises unforgettable experiences for visitors and residents alike. AV continues to work on Adak Island Inn, and is busy preparing for the summer tourism season. AV has successfully navigated seasonal changes, maintaining profitability and exceeding budget expectations.

In Adak, higher-than-anticipated Jet-A fuel sales over the summer have prompted additional inventory replenishment, while new pricing strategies aim to balance cost recovery with affordability for local customers. In Cold Bay, de-icing training has been completed, and a second Jet-A tanker truck has been deployed to enhance operations. These initiatives underscore Aleut Ventures’ commitment to operational efficiency and community support, positioning it for sustained success in the region.

Strata-G Solutions (Strata-G)

Strata-G is effectively managing its costs while achieving strong profitability, driven by its innovative projects in unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and advanced aerospace solutions. The company continues to invest in proprietary technology to strengthen its competitive edge, positioning itself for long-term growth. A recently awarded contract to a prime contractor partner is expected to boost production and revenue in the coming fiscal year.

Looking ahead, Strata-G is actively expanding its relationships with additional government agencies to diversify its portfolio and increase contract opportunities. The company is also focusing on logistics capabilities, seeking to enhance efficiencies and broaden its service offerings. In addition, Strata-G is working to extend its customer base beyond its core operations in Huntsville, identifying new opportunities to grow in other strategic markets. By leveraging its strong backlog, investing in innovation, and broadening its reach, Strata-G is well-positioned to sustain long-term success and create new revenue streams that will support our goal of long-term sustainable growth.
