Dear Shareholders & Descendants,
As our spring days have turned into summer, we’ve kicked off another fiscal year and we already have much to be grateful for.
On behalf of your entire Board of Directors, we want to express our sincere appreciation for your support and participation at our Aleut Picnic. It was fantastic to see familiar faces, meet some of you for the first time, and reconnect with friends and family from across our region. The picnic was made even more special this year by the eagerness of our youth, who were excited to share with us what they learned at Culture Camp, and by the presence of so many talented Unangax̂ artists. I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to The Aleut Foundation and all the dedicated TAC staff who worked tirelessly to put together such a special event.
Next, I would like to draw your attention to the Shareholder of the Year award and nominations. An important tradition since 1986, this award provides us with an opportunity to recognize an exceptional individual who has made a difference in our community. The Shareholder of the Year will be announced at the annual meeting. The nomination deadline is coming up. Be sure to submit your nominees for Shareholder of the Year to the Corporation by August 2.
We are truly grateful for the hard work and dedication exhibited by the TAC staff and team these last few months. It has been particularly rewarding to be able to hire so many shareholders, and that we are hiring to fill both vacant and new positions is a clear indicator that TAC is growing in a positive direction. Our packed newsletter is a testament to the great updates and activities taking place within our region and on our team.
Our 51st Annual Meeting of Shareholders will be here before we know it. For the first time, it will be held in the Seattle area. This change in location presents an excellent opportunity for us to engage with our shareholders who reside outside of Alaska. I look forward to meeting many of you in person and seeing many of you again to hear your valuable insights and suggestions.
