My intent for this vision is to use my woodworking abilities to carve a message into the minds of others about the historical knowledge of Alaska Native communities. I’ve recently began diving deeper into the history of my patrilineal Unangax ancestors. Many traumas prevent a thorough teaching, and that’s an all too common theme in Native communities. So if there’s one thing I wish to contribute, it is to continue learning about my heritage in acknowledgment to their way of life; The language they speak, the subsistence they survive on, and about laws/bills that influence/d their way of living in the present and past. All with intention of sharing this knowledge with others.
