Community Travel Recap – First Leg
Aleut began our 2025 in-region community travel in early June, visiting Unalaska and St. Paul. It was a joy to reconnect in person, share corporate updates, hear from shareholders, and provide space for questions and conversation. Thank you to everyone who joined us—your voices make these gatherings special. We’re also excited to announce that the winners of round-trip tickets to the 2025 Annual Meeting in Anchorage are:
• Unalaska – Susan Rushing
• St. Paul – John W. Melovidov

During community travel this summer, Aleut President & CEO Skoey Vergen was interviewed in KUCB’s studios in Unalaska with reporter Sofia Stuart-Rasi where they chatted about the upcoming Spinlaunch project, the military interest in Adak, and shareholder impact.
Read Marisa Mckasson’s latest article to learn more about what soil is, how to find out whether or not you have good soil for growing, how to nurture soil, and alternatives if you don’t have any naturally occurring soil. Marisa McKasson was hired as part of the University of Alaska Fairbanks Alaska Tribes Extension Program, in partnership with the APIA, to help the Unangax̂ people grow, cook, safely preserve and eat more food at home while supporting Alaska Native food sovereignty.
